Yes, our next meeting will consist of a road trip to Farm Bureau Corporate Headquarters at 7373 W. Saginaw Hwy. Steve Paradiso will demonstrate Final Cut Pro, Apple’s professional video editing software. The software is a bit pricey, but Apple also offers Final Cut Express, a very fine product for just $199.

John Couretas and LAMALUG President, Jonathan Stars will demonstrate iTunes. We’ll look at getting audio in from a USB turntable, cassettes and CDs. Then we’ll see the features of iTunes itself as well as how to get lots of free stuff from the iTunes store.

Join us this Thursday as Apple employee, Laurie Patterson shows us iWeb (part of the iLife package) and how it integrates with .Mac and iPhoto. She’ll even show us how you can start your own blog.

MACGURUs
This is the sixth month where we feature a session we call MacGurus where paid up members can get one-on-one help for a few minutes with knowledgeable members of our group. MacGurus will start at 6:00. Your turn will be on a first-come, first-served basis, so get there early. Get organized with your question because if others are waiting, we will limit your session to 10 minutes. (You may be able to arrange an outside meeting if you need more time.) We’re limiting MacGurus to a half hour (three 10-minutes sessions) since we don’t want our gurus to miss the main meeting. And besides, we need them to answer questions during the Q & A.

Reunion received the highest rating for genealogy software in MacWorld, MacAddict, and Mac Home Journal magazines.

Reunion helps you to document, store, and display information about your family — your ancestors, descendants, cousins, etc. It records names, dates, places, facts, plenty of notes, sources of information, pictures, sounds, and videos. It shows family relationships in an elegant, graphic form — people and families are linked in an easy-to-understand fashion.

Reunion makes it easy to publish your family tree information — even if you want to share it on the Web. You can automatically create common genealogy reports, charts, and forms, as well as birthday calendars, mailing lists, questionnaires, indexes, and other lists.
