What to do with my new pictures?

On Thursday, August 19th, 2010, LAMALUG will be discussing what can be done with all those new pictures you just took over the summer. Our focus will be on iPhoto ’09 and what it can do. iPhoto ’09 is part of Apple’s iLife ’09 suite. Join us at our new location in the MSU Communication Arts Building on the MSU campus. (See the previous post below for directions!) John Fauver will be leading the discussion.
Agenda:
- The “Ask a Geek” session will begin at 6:00 PM where members can have a question answered by our resident geeks.
- Due to the new location, there will not be a Mac-Basics Special Interest Group meeting this month.
- At 6:30 PM the main meeting will begin with a general question-and-answer session, followed at 7:00 PM by the iPhoto presentation.
- There will be a raffle at the end of the meeting, so be sure to stick around to see what the prizes are!
- An “afterglow” will be held at a local eatery close to the meeting location immediately following the meeting.
Next Month – DEMO FAIR 2010
Sign up now to demonstrate something to the group at our first annual Demo Fair. This is your chance to present to all your friends in the group one of your own favorite programs or how you do something that others may not know. You will be given only five short minutes to present the demonstration, and another five minutes for questions. (During the Q&A the next presenter will start getting ready.) It doesn’t have to be world-shattering, just something you would like to share with the group. Just click this link (which will be here very shortly) to sign up for the Demo Fair.

For those of you who were not able to brave the thunderstorms for our July Picnic, we announced that LAMALUG will now be meeting on the Michigan State University Campus, in the Communication Arts Building.
Comm-Arts is where WKAR has it’s studios, and there is a parking ramp just behind the building, and has a bus terminal on the street side. If you plan to arrive before 6:00 PM, be aware that the ramp is directly across from the MSU Public Safety office, and visitors need to park at the meters in the ramp before 6:00 PM. After 6:00 PM the ramp is open to the public. As you enter the ramp, the Comm-Arts Building is to your left, and there are stairs and an elevator between the levels. There is a sidewalk from the corner of the ramp into the reception area for WKAR, and you will see signs directing you to our new home from there.
Directions:
From East of Campus (East Lansing, Okemos, Haslett, Williamston, etc.), get to Mt. Hope road from either Okemos Road or Hagadorn, and take Mt. Hope West to Farm Lane. Turn Right (North) on Farm Lane and go under the two new railroad bridges. Do not turn at the first traffic light between the bridges (Service Road). At the second light, turn left at Trowbridge, and follow it around the bends to the parking ramp.
From West of Campus (anywhere west of US-127), take Harrison to Trowbridge, and turn onto campus (or get off US-127 at the Trowbridge Exit and continue Straight). Follow Trowbridge on campus until you reach the parking ramp.
There will be signs posted on the side of the roads leading on campus to guide you to the right Parking Ramp, and there will be signs in the building once you get to Communication Arts.
The Ramp is called “Ramp 5″ in this map (http://bit.ly/LAMALUG-Meetings)
