Program: Skype

Presenter: Alex Azima

Alex Azima is a physics professor at Lansing Community College. He uses Skype and Oracle's web conferencing to communicate with his students during virtual study sessions. Skype is used to communicate to other computers by voice or by video. It can also be used to make inexpensive long distance phone calls to landlines or cell phones. In this hands-on presentation, Alex will demonstrate how Skype is used to communicate by voice. A few of the Skype's other features will also be discussed. Bring your laptops, if you wish to participate!

REGULAR MEETING LOCATION: 205B Arts & Science (A&S) - Lansing Community College. A&S is the 2nd building east of the NE corner of Capitol and Shiawassie - #10 (red) on the map below.

There is an LCC ramp to the NE, a City ramp directly S, a parking lot to the SW, handicap parking on the E side of the building and free on-street parking. Charges are $1/hr in the LCC ramp and $1.50/hr in the City of Lansing's ramp above Gibson's Books & Beans. Students with Star Card IDs pay 20 cents per half hour in the LCC ramp.
